My, how time flies! I'm sorry I haven't kept you in the loop on my progress over the last couple of weeks. All these changes in eating and exercise take a lot for me to adjust to. I have been thinking about this blog, probably every day, but I just haven't found the time to write like I should. I hope you didn't think that I abandoned the process.
OK, here we go. I'm using my own scale at home rather than the scale at the doctor's office to measure my progress. At home, I weigh myself the same day of the week and the same time of day, and I think both of these things has a big impact on the integrity of the number. For instance, this week when I went to the doctor, it has only been six days since I had begun Phase II of the program, and I got weighed at 2:00 in the afternoon. When the scale only gave me credit for a .6 pound weight loss, I could have cried. I remembered hearing once that your body can fluctuate as much as four pounds on any given day, but still! I came home all nasty and irritable. That's no way to be. So, I'll stick with the home scale.
My “before” weight was done on Saturday, January 21.
I started the weight loss journey on January 24. My weigh-in day is now Wednesdays.
My first official weigh-in (February 1) brought me down 9.2 pounds.
My second (February 8) brought me down an additional 3.6 pounds, for a two-week total of 12.8 pounds! Woo-hoo!
Let me tell you a little bit about Phase II. This phase will last approximately 35 days. I'll receive a total of 28 HCG injections. (Yes, I have to give myself a shot in my tummy every morning! But the needle is very small, very thin, and I experience no adverse side effects from the experience.) Once all the injections are complete, I'm supposed to remain on this food program for another three days to allow all the excess HCG to work its way out. "Anna, that's only 31 days.…" I know, but I'm also supposed to stop the injections during my period. It wouldn't hurt me to continue them during this monthly annoyance, but I would bleed much harder and much longer...no, thanks.
Over the next few days, I’ll talk to you about my understanding of HCG as well as my diet and exercise program during Phase II.
Enjoy your day. Enjoy this blog.
